The Wilsons, a dinner date and an orangery

A new orangery for Mr and Mrs Wilson form Crystal LivingA dinner date for two

To celebrate their first night in their new orangery, Mr and Mrs Wilson dressed in black tie and enjoyed a relaxing dinner date by candlelight. Here’s how Crystal Living helped them to create a new space to enjoy in their home.

The brief

Mr and Mrs Wilson were recently married and decided to improve their property and add space rather than have the cost and inconvenience of moving house. They initially approached us about installing a downstairs toilet and utility room, but were also hoping to add a garden room and get rid of the old garage which was an eyesore.

The solution

When they came to our showroom, Mr and Mrs Wilson really liked the garden rooms with solid roofs as they thought it would save on heating bills but also looked at some with glazed roof styles too. We have several conservatories and orangeries on display at the showroom to make it easy for customers to choose.

The quote

Mr and Mrs Wilson had thought they would have to organise everything themselves for the building work, so when we offered to manage everything from sorting out the building regulations to installing the new boiler, they were surprised. After meeting with one of our designers, they said we had produced exactly what they were looking for. They were impressed with our professional presentation and quality of the example projects they were shown and were happy to go ahead.

The process

Mr and Mrs Wilson received a full schedule of exactly what work would be done on each day and it had the names of the workmen who would be doing it. As promised their new improved home was completed six weeks later.

The outcome

“We and all our family love our new orangery, which has become our dining room and garden lounge that we use every day whatever the weather,” said Mrs Wilson. “The staff were polite, efficient, tidy and highly skilled, and did a first class job.”

The efficiency of the glazing has also impressed them. Mr Wilson said: “Our heating bills have only risen marginally despite the additional space, because of the efficiency of the roof glazing and the new boiler.”
